Terms of Service
Last updated 7 November 2026
- UniQuest is for students with a QUB or Ulster email.
- You own what you make. Be decent, do your share, and don't game the system.
- Coins are in-app points with no cash value.
- We can remove content or accounts that break these rules.
These terms are an agreement between you and UniQuest ("we", "us"). By creating an account you accept them, and our Privacy Policy. UniQuest is independent and isn't run by Queen's University Belfast or Ulster University.
1. Who can use UniQuest
You need a current email address at @qub.ac.uk or @ulster.ac.uk, and you must sign up with your real name. One account per person. Keep your password to yourself; you're responsible for what happens on your account.
2. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post: your profile, projects, messages, photos and quest proof. You give us permission to store it, show it to the people it's meant for, and make the copies needed to run UniQuest. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except where these terms or the Privacy Policy say a copy stays (for example, quest proof that stays with a team's project).
Only post what you have the right to share.
3. Projects and teams
Projects belong to the people who build them. We don't claim any rights in your project's ideas, code or designs. How a team splits ownership, work or any money it makes is up to the team. UniQuest isn't a party to those agreements and can't settle disputes about them, so agree the important things in writing.
4. Commitment Score and ratings
Your Commitment Score (0 to 100, starting at 50) reflects how reliably you see projects through. It goes up when quests you're part of are approved and teammates rate you well. It goes down when you leave a team mid-quest without notice or are rated poorly by most of your team. The rules are shown in the app.
Rate teammates honestly. Don't trade ratings, gang up on someone, or create new accounts to escape a low score. We may correct a score or rating that came from a bug, abuse or a breach of these terms.
5. Coins and quests
Coins are in-app points you earn by using UniQuest and finishing quests. They have no cash value, can't be exchanged for money, and can't be sold or transferred outside UniQuest. We may change how coins are earned or spent. We may hold back or reverse coins earned through a bug, fake proof or a breach of these terms.
Quest proof must be your team's real work. Submitting someone else's work, or proof of work that wasn't done, is a serious breach.
6. Rules
Don't:
- harass, threaten, bully or discriminate against anyone;
- post anything illegal, sexual, hateful or violent, or anyone's private information without their permission;
- pretend to be someone else, or use someone else's account;
- spam, scam, or advertise unrelated products;
- infringe anyone's copyright or other rights;
- break into, overload or reverse engineer UniQuest, or get around its limits;
- use UniQuest to cheat on assessed university work, against your university's rules.
Report anything that breaks these rules from the post or profile, or email [email protected]. You can block anyone.
7. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may remove content, or suspend or close an account, that breaks these terms or puts other people at risk. Where we can, we'll tell you why. If you think we got it wrong, email us.
8. The service
UniQuest is in testing. Features will change, and things will sometimes break. We provide it as it is and can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change or stop the service; if we stop it, we'll give you reasonable notice so you can save what you need.
9. Liability
UniQuest is free. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, for what other users do or post, or for the outcome of a project. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit, and nothing affects your statutory rights.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top and, for changes that matter, tell you in the app before they apply. If you keep using UniQuest after that, the new terms apply.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland, and the courts of Northern Ireland can hear any dispute. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring a claim in your home courts.
